There are 5 products.

You will find on Nautisails store a range of covers for dinghies : 420, 470, 505 and the famous Laser. Useful to protect the ropes and deck equipment from bad weather and thieves temptation

We have worked the use and wear of the covers to enable an easy and fast use, to maximize the time spent on water, and assure a good duration of the product.

Since 8 years we sell covers all around Europe and our awnings are still in good condition on parkings!

Shape

We have chosen a not too sharp design to facilitate the set up od the cover. Each awning is equiped with straps to put it under tension and keep it in place in case of strong wind. And openings, especially for the mast, are made in Velcro straps + plastic clip.

Material

We use a grey 900 denier high resistance polyester cloth, treated against UV, and with an internal waterproof reinforcement

Very often, the first elements damaged on covers are the seams which are growing older faster than the cloth, we use high diameter yarns with zigzag seams.

Water evacuation

We have noticed that these premature damages of covers are often due to the accumulation of water, from rain, which break open the cloth.

A solution would be to create a slope such as a tent canvas to evacuate the water. But this solution means high tensions in the cloth and an important windage.

We have set up and patended an innovative system to evacuate this water.

The water which stays on the rear part of the cover is evacuated through a grid connected to a sleeve which leaves the dinghy at the back of the boat.

Set up :

1- Fix the boom on the mast and put the downhaul to keep it in place

IMPORTANT : the back of the boom must be at the bottom of the boat.

2- Place the cover, start by fixing it to the mast

3- Then install the front part of the cover

4- Place the rear part, placing the sleeve through the trap at the back of the dinghy

5- Finally, fix the cover with lateral and bottom straps.
